In dumpsters, junkyards, gardens and
woods, homeless cats are everywhere
trying to survive. We are an all volunteer
group working to help homeless cats
and kittens by providing spay and neuter
aid and assitance. Many are discarded pets,
some are born outdoors, none of them want
to be there, each of them could be a loving
companion. Needless to say that we also
advocate keeping cats strictly inside
for the safety and protection.
We are an advocacy group promoting
education, information about claw
management and safe, healthy
alternatives to the declawing of cats.
because what you don't know....
can hurt. and worse.
Inspired by Kris, a feisty, pregnant,
stray cat, KittenAid was born of a lifelong
love for cats and the desire to make a
difference in the world. Our mission is to
serve as a platform for connecting need and
assistance. Our goals are to save the lives,
promote the health, and control the population
of our feline friends. Our vision looks to the day
when all cats have a family to call their own.
More cats are intentionally killed in the
United States than die from any other
documented cause. Who is responsible?
The vast majority of these killings are perpetrated
not by cruel individuals, but by and with the authority
of an antiquated animal control system. These
killings are performed by government employees
and contractors, and spill over to private shelter employees.
Everyone deplores this killing. Many characterize it as
“necessary evil.” Alley Cat Allies knows that there is
nothing necessary about this evil. We believe in and
practice T-N-R (Trap, Neuter & Return).
We are a non-profit organization founded
in 1999 by a group of dedicated animal
welfare advocates. We provide a unique
resource for concerned and responsible
citizens. We are here to be your partners
in solving your homeless cat crisis. We believe
in and practice T-N-R (Trap, Neuter & Return).
The Feral Cat Caretakers Coalition
The FCCC was formed when it’s founder,
Dona Cosgrove Baker, a caretaker herself,
was profoundly moved by the suffering of
feral cats and kittens. She was called
to the often times overwhelming responsibility
and commitment required to care for a large
number of feral cats, scattered over several
acres in an industrial area in Los Angeles,
California. While caretaking, she experienced
an unconscionable lack of support and understanding
from the community, and on numerous occasions,
overt hostility. She knew that feral cat caretakers
were great in number and were caring for feral
cats and kittens under similar or worse circumstances.
Dona recognized that if feral cat caretakers were
organized as well as effectively directed and
collectively supported, they would be a
forceful instrument in providing a specialized
solution for humane feral cat population control
and responsible long-term care. We believe
in and practice T-N-R (Trap, Neuter & Return).
We publish the names of veterinarians
and animal hospitals as well as other
individuals and organizations that practice,
promote, and perpetuate the cruel and needless
practice of digital amputation, popularly and
euphemistically known as declawing. Please
boycott the veterinarians and clinics listed on
this site and all others who perform this
procedure, which is illegal or considered
unethical in most of the countries of the world.
Contact them and let them know that their
behavior is inhumane and unacceptable.
We encourage comments, contributions,
suggestions, and corrections.
